LGBTQ pride mental health therapy psychological support

What difficulties or experiences do you help with?

We can help people from the LGBTQ+ communities with a wide range of difficulties and experiences. These include low mood, anxiety, trauma, stress, family planning, eating difficulties/disorders, self-harm, grief, adjustment, shame, physical health difficulties, long term health conditions, neurodiversity, sleep difficulties, relationship difficulties, the ‘coming out’ process, gender difficulties and more. You will be matched with a clinician that is best suited to your needs.

What therapies do you provide?

Depending on your specific needs, we will match you with a clinician that will be best suited to you. Therapies we offer include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focussed Therapy (SFT). Crucially, all of our therapies will be adapted to address your experiences and identities. ‘Off the shelf’ therapies often do not work as effectively as they could for LGBTQ+ people without being adapted.

What ages do you work with?

We have clinicians that work with LGBTQ+ people across the lifespan. From children and young people, to adolescents, young adults, working age adults and older adults. We also work with families and couples.

All of our clinicians understand that developmental stages, life stories, historical context, family involvement (or lack of) and work/education can impact mental health, regardless of age.

How much does it cost?

The price of your therapy will depend on the clinician that you see, as different clinicians have different rates. If you have an insurance policy, then one or more of our clinicians are likely to be registered with your insurance provider, and you may be able to have your sessions paid for through this. If you are self-funding and have a particular budget, let us know when you reach out, so we can hold this in mind when matching you.

How long does therapy last?

Therapy can sometimes be time limited, and sometimes it can be longer. This all depends on your specific needs and preferences. Your clinician will discuss this with you early on in your therapy journey, and will check in with you frequently about this too.

Why choose us?

All Rainbow Junction Therapy clinicians work in an anti-oppressive and affirmative way with all of their clients. This takes into account the difficulties that can be experienced in relation to the socio-political, systemic, neurotypical, ableist, hetero- and cis-normative world that we live in. This extends to all minortisied and intersecting identities and communities, including the LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, disabled, migrant, BIPOC and sex worker communities.
